  • Found the 5 tapes that had been missing -- they were in the stack of empty tape cartridge boxes /sigh

  • PeopleSoft student employee error -- found and combined
  • Privacy flags -- confused department members requesting the same privacy level they already have ... lots of looking and time wasting!
• Accounts: Yesterday was the annual 6K admitted students that didn't accept UVM's offer get purged (took all day to purge the accounts). Today was the annual expire the graduated students with lots of internal changes and pages overnight about the LDAP replica's being slow to update

  • Preparing for moving the DD200 to the nsrserverhost to use for Indexes
  • Emailing vendor about prices... Yeesh they are high
  • Move DD200 -- and the 10/100/1000 port suddenly doesn't work anymore

  • Cloning of data (manual because auto failed) continues
• Footprints: old userid that should have been removed reappears as a customer and causes problems in the PeopleSoft Help Desk project

• So busy I forgot to put this in on time! (yikes)
• LDAP: set a privacy level
• Backup:
  • Retrieve on-site tape that was not in the TLS to allow a student to recover their home directory after it was eaten by a computer in the library
  • Replace failed tape drive
  • Re-Cable TLS to put robot on its own SCSI bus -- trippled the performance of the first tape drive!
  • Discover that jbconfig does not work the way EMC support told me -- it refused to run because the TLS was already configured -- Luckily, we had (I needed help) tricked Solaris into assigning the two tape drives from the new bus the old device names
  • Discover that I really do not understand how nsrjb works
