• nsrexecd crashed at 11:32pm last night.
  • EMC SR 26184182 opened at 12:40am.
  • nsrexecd seems to have stayed operational overnight.
  • EMC unwilling to examine core file -- want me to move to new release. I'm not moving until they provide LGTsc09318 for something other than 7.3.3. They say there are three known issues with nsrexecd that are fixed in newer versions. Big deal -- do they know that these other issues are the same "Hey, I called strlen with a bad pointer and walked off the end of my memory" issue? ... they might, after all, calling strlen with a bad pointer seems to be NetWorker's favorite way to kill itself
• med28 has a third address -- update the DNS and the client definition.

• Clean up a client that was removed
• Walk a customer through restoring a clobbered web page
• Look at cleaning up the 2 month old tapes that should have already recycled (again)
• Open EMC 26173518 -- Sev 1 -- recover attempting to mount AFTD on tape drive and then a staging command that attempted to use that tape drive caused 14 tapes to become marked "unlabeled" before I found and killed the recover

General:

• EMC: 26003402 -- had to explain how to use mminfo to get a list of ssid's that I want to clone to the support tech.... Oy Vey! Hello IBM -- Please call me... what's the price for TSM these days???

• Catalyst T3-4 group failure. Investigation turned up NFS mount to another server that was not running NFSD anymore. A forced unmount of the /mnt/cdrom filesystem and then the save group restarted and ran to successful completion.

LDAP:

• Process the errors from the nightly update (PS feed of student employee didn't find the matching student due to missing info in the student record)

General

• Giraffe: Xi-Text printers in "halted" state after system crash last night -- all had to be started
• AIX LOGLV's -- found guideline that says 1 loglv per 1 trillion bytes of filesystem... added 10 more loglvs!!!
