  • 26155462: BugTraq -- advised EMC to close the issue, it was resolved
  • 26575630: EMC called -- I think we're having a communication problem. I told her that the tape drive has an issue but that NetWorker has a logic problem because it took the entire library offline instead of the problem tape drive. I told her that five times. We'll see what she puts in the case notes.
  • 23189374: Updating EMC powerlink notes to indicate that IBM drive dump analysis indicates that TapeAlert "Clean now" is never being posted. Why is NW reporting that it is seeing it?
  • Replace tape drive that repeatedly presents "A" code

26575630: Jukebox again made not ready by the same tape drive having an issue. Was able to get jukebox back this time by cycling it into service mode and back to enabled. Have left the tape drive in "service" mode.

  • EMC 23189374: Discovered a tape drive that needed to be cleaned and a "TapeAlert Unsupported" message in daemon.log. Dumped the drive and requested analysis of what TA code it had sent. Notified EMC of new development.

  • EMC: 26441724 -- Filesystems have to be listed in /etc/fstab to be backed up. Good info... so what does that have to do with NetWorker trying to back up NFS mounts it should not be??? IDIOTS!
  • EMC: 23189374 -- Request for update and let them know I had to manually clean two more tape drives this morning
  • Announce 6pm-8pm work on INBOX backup disk array
  • Research XLS documentation to see if it is capable of performing tape drive cleaning (automatically) -- manuals seem to indicate it is a manual process (in physical mode). Send note off to support to see if there is an automatic cleaning option in the hardware.
